One School at a Time, a charity that supports two high schools in Johannesburg's poorest area, helps students with school materials and other necessities that their families cannot afford. They aim to keep these kids in school to complete their education but many of the girls fall victim to the stats: High School girls in South Africa miss up to 25% of their school year due to lack of sanitary products.
To try and alleviate the situation for girls in the schools we sponsor, we appealed to Always to bring their Keeping Girls in School programme to ours. We sent them an eye-opening direct mailer which got their attention and convinced them to commit to an annual program at our school as well as much needed monthly sanitary towel deliveries.
